Visit the Hawaii of Yesterday
Hale Kamaluhia (Hawaiian for House of Serenity), is our tropical retreat on the West coast of Molokai. Our second floor, 1 bed/1 bath condo, has an amazing view of Papohaku Beach and is exactly as pictured, as we continually update our photos. Because we live on Molokai, we personally oversee the condo and are readily available to answer any questions and we are in our unit before and after each guest to make sure everything is clean and in good working order. Hale Kamaluhia is a passion of ours and we want our guests to feel like they are coming to a cherished family retreat. We have tried to provide most of what you might need except for food and clothing. For your convenience we have provided beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, a small cooler, small beverage cooler, snorkel gear, fishing poles (upon request), tennis rackets, bikes and a nice set of binoculars for whale watching (in the winter months). You will find our kitchen fully stocked with starter coffee, tea, spices, olive oil & vinegar, rice etc. We also have 2 kayaks (a single and a double) and a paddleboard that guests are welcome to use on the water by our house, east of town. Rental cars are very expensive and sometimes hard to acquire on Molokai, which is why we offer one with the unit at a reasonable rate. If you rent it, it will be at the airport when you arrive and we will probably be there to hand you the keys and answer any last minute questions. Mahalo for considering Hale Kamaluhia for your next getaway and we hope to see you soon.
Grand Opening
We just obtained our permit for our B&B . We are currently the first (and only) permitted B&B on Molokai. Kahakai Hale is our 2 bedroom 1 bathroom B&B located just east of Kaunakakai right by the water. Since we just opened, our calendar is wide open, so chose your dates before they fill up. Although it is 2 bedrooms, we only rent it to one group at a time, so you won't be sharing the living space or bathroom with people you do not know.
Perfect getaway on an unspoiled island
Our stay on Molokai was awesome! We were welcomed with a warm hug at the Airport, where Mike handed over the Jeep to us. There Mike already gave us some helpful information about the Island, like where we can get the best organic fruits and veggies, or where the local butcher is located. The condo was absolutely amazing... we still feel like we can't find the right words for it! Everything one could ask for was provided. You can immediately feel the love and dedication Yvette and Mike put into the designing and furnishing of the whole condo. There is a beautiful and large lanai with an amazing view on the ocean and the huge secluded beach which is just minutes away. The location of the condo is gorgeous. Ke Nani Kai is surrounded on both sides with beautiful large white sandy beaches, where we could see monk seals soaking up some sun every day. Molokai is definitely an Island of its own. You have the chance to relax and escape from the hectic everyday life. We also enjoyed a Kayak tour with the Kayak which Mike and Yvette provided us. Or we enjoyed a ride on the bikes ,which are already in the condo. Everything is exactly as it is pictured on the photos! We would recommend it to everybody who plans to stay on Molokai and we would love to visit this paradise soon again!

Yvette made us feel like family--the kind of family you like and want to come back. Her and her husband were warm and gracious hosts with the condo, community and location simply perfect. It was beautifully decorated and contained all of the conveinances of a home on the beach. All of our needs were anticipated and provided for. For me and my husband, it was the ideal setting to relax and enjoy the island. When we return to Moloka'i, we will be calling Yvette again and as well as urging our friends to call her. We only wish we had had more time.
